Hadley/ Philemon Wright High School Sport Etude Program

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am Excited to share a new initiative at Hadley and Philemon Wright High School. As the Athletic Director for the past four years, I am thrilled to announce the relaunch of our Sport-Études program.

The Sport Etude program is aimed at young people who practice a sport intensively at a provincial, national, or international level. Students are referred by sports associations from the Outaouais region.

For those unfamiliar with Sport-Études, it is designed for student-athletes competing at an elite level. The program allows students to complete their academic coursework in the morning while dedicating their afternoons to high-level sports training.

We are currently building momentum and expanding our athletic partnerships. For the 2026–2027 school year, we proudly partner with:

• Académie Francis Wathier (Boys Hockey)
• Intrépide de Gatineau (Boys Hockey)
• Vincent Dunn (Girls Hockey)
• Club de Baseball de l’Outaouais (Boys & Girls Baseball)

Program Growth & Looking Ahead While our current enrollment means Sport-Études students are integrated into standard academic classes this year, our goal is to expand the program enough to offer dedicated Sport-Études classes starting next school year. We are also actively working to establish new community partnerships to accommodate additional sports.
