Be informed, communicate, consult, represent, decide, study, participate
The Governing Board plays a vital role in school governance. It includes parents, teachers, support staff, and the principal. The Governing Board holds certain decision-making powers and approves the school’s success and strategic plan, the anti-bullying and anti-violence plan, and other school policies, all in the best interest of students.
Parent members are elected at the Annual General Assembly each September and serve a two-year term. Parents also hold key designated positions on the Governing Board, such as Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary or Parent Committee Representative.
While both Hadley and Philemon Wright have their own Governing Boards, the two Governing Boards hold joint meetings once per month. These meetings are open to the public.
On behalf of the Hadley and the Philemon Wright Governing Boards, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to join in our endeavors to provide the very best for our students.
